So over the next week I’ll be pumping out the posts again and getting things back in order!
Anyways, my trip was fun, if your interested in knowing what I did check out Vegas Addict in the my site section of the sidebar.
A lot of my link wheeling and dealing happens at places like Digitalpoint their are thousands of people on their everyday that all share the same goals as you do so it’s the perfect place for something like this to happen. Obviously you want to head over to the “Buy, Sell or Trade” section of the site for this.
- Always go there with a plan, what type of links are you looking for? Links to increase traffic, increase PR and SERPs rankings because each link is different and are bought for different reasons. You don’t want to be buying a brand new site that is PR 5 but with 0 traffic if your looking for links specifically to increase your traffic.
- When looking to buy links never just accept the price they are looking for. Privately message them and offer something a little lower, if someone is looking for $15 offer $10-$12 I would bet 85%+ of the time they will accept your offer. If they don’t their areĀ billion other sites out their I’m sure you can find another one to put your link on.
- When exchanging links don’t let them put any old link on your site, do not ruin your site by putting porn links on your make money online blog because you are getting a high PR, high traffic site linking to you. Keep things relevant to your site only.
- Don’t buy links from those “5000 blog posts for $5″ people. In my opinion only bad things can happen coming from those people. They will most likely cause headaches with google for you and its likely its likely they will never bring you and decent, relevant traffic and will probably never boost your PR because of the problems with google.
- If you find yourself dealing with some of the same people all the time start building relationships with them, having people you know that are working in the same area as you can help you with more then just link building. Talk to them, get to know them, add them to MSN and keep constant dialog with them because you never know when they could come in handy.
- When selling links the their are three keys, give them as much information as possible and make them feel like they are getting a great deal, and price your links right if you do those three things you wont have any hassle selling your links. Before posting anything make sure you look around the forums and see what similar links in that niche are selling for and price it accordingly.
- Always leave feedback, people LOVE feedback so if the forum you are dealing in (like digitalpoint) has some type of feedback always leave it for other people once a transaction is complete. Leaving feedback for people will always keep them happy they want to make sure they look reputable to the other users so are always eager to get feedback once done.
I’ve finally completed one of my sites, It’s called MySpace Games and is a flash games site. I like how it has turned out and it’s time to start driving some traffic there. If you would like to check it out it is in the “My Sites” section on the sidebar.
This Time Next Week………….!
This time next week I’ll be in Las Vegas. It should be a fun time, we spent some time last night figuring out some of the details, got a tee time booked at a golf course, things like that.
John Chow Gets His $10,000 Check
Earlier this week John Chow was presented a $10,000 check from Brian Campbell. John wrote a post about Brian’s attempted at making $10,000 in 37 days. He was able to do that and gave John Chow’s post a lot of the credit so he gave him the check.
I wish I could make $10,000 in a month, let alone for one post.
Contact Me Page Added
I have added the contact me page. So if you have any questions, suggestions or pretty much anything else that is the place to do it!
I always carry a notebook with me where ever I go. Every website I’m currently working on has it’s own pagewith a list of everything I need to work on for that site I try and write down every detail because when managing a lot of sites some of the small details get forgotten about so it’s always good when an idea comes to you to write it down, it may be something really small and you may not get to doing/fixing that task for a month or two but in the end if you are that detailed with improving your sites people will notice, resulting in more money in your pocket in the long run.
Here is my current list for this blog:
- Add contact me page
- Add my site links (completed)
- Finish link building post
- Brainstorm some new page ideas
- Use Twitter more
- Submit site do more directories
- Continue link building
- Look into guest blogging and bloggers for this site
- Custom Theme/Logo
- Work on 2 spare posts
So that is my current list for this site, as you can see from just reading those points you can get a good feel for where this blog may be headed in the next few months. I’m looking to get a few guest bloggers, looking to get a custom theme, I’m looking to add some more pages to the site with some more helpful information for people, things like that.
Once you’ve made your list for your site(s) what I like to do is sometimes number the list. So you know what is most important to get done right now. For me and my list I just gave I think adding a contact me page is #1 because people need to be able to get a hold of me and I like to be available for other people that may have a comment or question.
A lof of my work on sites gets done on weekends so usually during the day on Friday or Saturday morning I will sit down and go through my list and figure out what really needs to get done that weekend and I will come up with a master list (in order of importance) and once I’ve got that figured out my goal for the weekend will be to get everything on that list crossed off. If and when I get that list completed I’ll usually spend an hour going through my sites again and adding the next stuff to my lists for each site.
I truly believe this is a very effective way of being organized and knowing what needs to get done. Since I started doing things this way I’ve defiantly noticed an improvement in things getting done and the right stuff being done.
Their are a few other things a notebook can be handy for at all times. I always like to have a page for ideas. I get ideas for new sites all the time and when you already have a ton of them on the go you really can’t stop everything your doing and start a whole new site so a list of ideas will allow you to go back to them when your ready and pick one and you wont forget those past ideas. The other thing I always use my notebook for is to write articles. When I’m bored (it’s been great for those boring days in class) I can write content for my sites, usually I’ll write whatever comes to mind and I can either find it to put on one of my sites (for example this exact post was written in my notebook) or if it doesn’t really fit into any of my sites I can put it on my Webmaster Store and someone else can use it as unique content for their site.
1. Pick a Name & Domain
- You obviously need to pick a topic, name and domain. I don’t think I really need to get anymore in depth with this since it should be self explanatory. You will also need to find a host, their are a billion hosting companies out there so it shouldn’t be hard to find a good one. But it is important to do a little research before buying, you don’t want your site going down when you don’t want it to.
2. Set Up the Site
- I highly suggest using Wordpress to run your blog with. Like I said before they have a billion plugins, themes, everything you’ll need to run your site for free. Check out my suggested plugins posts for what plugins I think most people would need for starting a blog. Also I would suggest checking out other blogs to get ideas of things you want on your blogs.
3. Start Creating Content
- Now it’s time to start creating content. If possible start off by getting at least a few posts written right away. It’s always nice to be a post or two ahead at all times. Everyone has a busy life so its inevitable you wont have time to write something one day, but if your a few posts ahead it wont kill you to miss a day. The time stamp feature is a mans best friend so take advantage of it.
4. SEO Time/Get the Word Out
- SEO is key to any site. So now that your site is up and running, pumping out content it’s time for some SEO work so you can be at the top of those SERPs. Start submitting to search engines, link building (buying links, exchanging links, Social Bookmarking) and all that fun stuff. Also add your blog to places like Technorati, Blog Catelog etc…
Those 4 steps should get you off on the right track. The biggest key to a successful blog is constant content that is helpful and interesting to people.
It’s now only 12 days left until my 2nd trip to Las Vegas. I’m defiantly starting to get pumped about the trip, this week is also the last week of school for me so it’s going to be a busy week. I need to stop by the bank this week and buy my American money and anything else I need for the trip. To follow everything I do on my trip head to my site Vegas Addict.
My Sites Added to Sidebar
I’ve added a list of some of the sites that I own to my sidebar so check it out.
Paid Reviews Added
I am now accepting paid reviews on my site. I’m sure everyone knew this buy now since I’ve already posted one. But right now they are $8.00 per review, written by me about your product, service, site. So if your interested check it out here and order one up!
Rumours of Pagerank Updates Starting
In some of the forums the past few days people have started talking about seeing their PRs change. So if you’ve been trying to boost your page rank over the last while it might be time to see if that has paid off or not.
SubmitEdge offers almost every SEO submission services you can think of including.
- Directory Submission
- Link Baiting Service
- Article Submission
- Social Bookmarking
- Search Engine Submission
- Guaranteed Google Indexing
- DMOZ Listing
- Blog Review Service
They also offer a bunch of other services like
- SEO Services
- SEO Content Writing
- SEO Web Designing
SubmitEdge has done work for over 6,100 sites since 2006. They have likely done so many jobs for so many websites because of their pricing. Their pricing on almost all services are VERY reasonable considering the importance of their services. Link Building can be one of the most important parts of any new site and is a lot of hard work to do successfully so a site like this with reasonable prices is hard to find.
They accept paypal and credit cards so it shouldn’t be a problem paying them and I suggest you check them out for your SEO needs.
As a blogger one of the most important things to do to be successful is to connect with your readers. If your readers get that feeling that you could be, or are friends they’re going to continually come back to your blog, their is no doubt about it.
Using something like Twitter to create that feeling works very well. Twitter is kind of like a MSN Messanger on loud speaker, everyone can hear you, the differance between Twitter and your blog is that Twitter still gives you that “exclusive/private” your blog can’t always do.
Being able to give people that kind of feel without having 100s of people adding you to MSN and messagin you every 2 seconds can be a big money maker for you. Which is one reason people are selling their Twitter accounts with 500 followers for over $1500.
Taking advantage of having a following of 500 people is another question though, being able to turn those followers into money can be very profitable. These 500 followers can be extremely important to growing your blog and making more money.
First off you can pick their brains, find out what they like and dislike about your blog. Targetting your blog on thie things your most hardcore readers like will in the end make you the most money because the ones that come back day after day are the ones that will spend the money on the stuff you suggest to them and your advertisers advertise.
Have fun on Twitter, play games, have exclusive to Twitter contests, and just use Twitter as another excuse for people to love your blog.
My last point about using Twitter is use it to keep people up to date about you and your blog. To again give that personal feeling Twitter can give people include them in your day to day life. Give everyone updates on things you are doing, work and non-work related. Using twitterfeed to give people updates each time you make a post on your blog.
